​Baguette is a new light sculpture that holds a piece of my personal history—a tribute to the quiet rituals that shape us. Inspired by the Saturdays I spent watching my mother braid dough with care, this piece captures the warmth and rhythm of those moments through woven stainless steel and subtle illumination. Each sculpture is hand-formed, a limited edition that carries its own unique details, much like the loafs that rise differently each time they’re made. I wanted to create something that blends the organic beauty of everyday life with a refined, metallic presence—inviting viewers to reflect on how simple acts, like breaking bread, connect us across time and space. This work is about honouring tradition while reimagining it through light and form, a reminder that art can illuminate the stories we carry within us. Laymen or mannequins, also known as lay figures, are among the most essential tools of the artist’s studio from the Renaissance to the early 20th century. 

​​    I proclaim that mannequins are more than just wooden forms used by artists to hold poses as they craft their art.  I believe that they are also visual conduits capable of emotional expression, body language if you will. As an artist I want to celebrate the mannequin, not as a tool, but as a valuable art form that can visually stir-up and motivate our desires, help reconnect us to enjoyable life experiences, and awaken our memories.    In celebration of their centuries of creative contributions, I have launched my new series of mixed media sculpture that reflects life's journey as spoken through the body language of mannequins.

Oxidation Studio Production Information

1. Lead time required for custom pieces is 4 to 6 weeks. 
    (FOB our oxidation studio.)
​2. Sheets from our gallery inventory can be crated and shipped
    in 4 to 6 weeks.
3. Concept samples are available. (A fee may apply)
4. Oxidized copper panel photography is also available for
    computer manipulation. (At no charge)

Artist Made Oxidized Copper Inlayed Glass.

Each copper inlay is designed and fabricated by our creative oxidation artists. Because glass has two viewing sides, the inlays are designed and oxidized on both sides. We can also work with your local preferred glass provider. Talk to the artist about your project.

This guide is intended to provide the designer / client, a patina colour and texture reference. Once your desired outcome is determined our oxidation studio will produce the square footage specified by the designer. Please review the oxidation guide and let us know the sample colour range that you want for your design.
